Privacy notice

This notice describes exactly what econgrid.xyz does with personal data: almost nothing while you browse, and only what you choose to send when you use the participation form.

Last updated 2 October 2026

Who is responsible

Economic Grid is a founding research project. The person responsible for personal data processed through this website is the project’s founder, Steven Alber. The project does not publish a postal or email address. Questions and requests about your data go through the participation form — choose “Privacy request”.

When you browse

The website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. The project does not receive this data in a form that identifies you.

When you use the participation form

If you send a submission, the project stores:

  • the type of registration you chose, your name, your email address and your message;
  • your organization and country, if you provide them;
  • the confirmation that you agreed to this storage, and the time of submission;
  • a random technical reference and a cryptographic fingerprint of the submission’s content, used only to recognize accidental duplicates.

The project does not store your IP address or browser details with your submission.

Spam protection. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. When the form loads, Turnstile runs a check in your browser. To confirm the result, the project’s server sends the check token and your IP address to Cloudflare, once, at the moment you submit. Cloudflare describes its processing in its own Turnstile privacy terms.

Purpose and basis. Your submission is used to read and answer it and to plan the founding phase of the project. The basis is your consent, given with the checkbox, and the project’s legitimate interest in responding to messages you send. You will not be added to a mailing list or sent marketing without being asked separately.

Where it is stored and who can see it

Submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database in the project’s Cloudflare account. Cloudflare acts as the project’s infrastructure provider and operates a global network, so data may be processed outside your country under Cloudflare’s data-processing terms. Only the project administrator can read submissions, through an administrator view that requires a Cloudflare Access sign-in. Submissions are not sold, and they are not shared with anyone else.

How long it is kept

Submissions are kept only for as long as they are needed to answer them and to plan the founding phase, and are deleted when they are no longer needed. You can ask for deletion at any time; the administrator view includes a permanent delete function for exactly this purpose.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data held about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the supervisory authority where you live.

How to make a request

Use the participation form, choose “Privacy request” and use the email address your earlier submission was sent from, so the request can be matched to it. The project may ask you to confirm that the address is yours before acting.

Changes

If the way this website handles data changes — for example, if analytics or a mailing list are ever introduced — this notice will be updated first, with a new date at the top.
